THE DATES AND THE PROCESS

On Sunday 23 April 2017 French citizens can vote in the first round of the French presidential elections. Jean-Luc Mélenchon
François Fillon

RESULTS

Voting takes place from 8h00 to either 19h00 or 20h00 (major cities). The first round results will be released on Sunday 23 April at 20h00. The official results have, in the past, been in line with these results published at 20h00. The second round follows the same procedure.

Given the nature of the economic agendas proposed by the candidates, it is not unlikely that the markets will see significant volatility, including market gaps, depending on the results.
